Breastfeeding

In 2004, the Food and Nutrition Services/USDA began a training and technical assistance project to equip WIC Programs with research based framework for designating and maintaining breastfeeding peer counseling programs.  The national WIC breastfeeding peer counseling program was implemented to provide peer support to WIC women learning to breastfeeding and to prepare WIC staff to implement and expand BFPC programs.  The Rosebud WIC Program staffs a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, a Breastfeeding Coordinator and Certified Lactation Counselors who are available to assist with breastfeeding aid and support.
